Pastor Albert Pendarvis is the fourth Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Algiers. He was awakened to his lost condition in the early days of the Ministry and gloriously saved by the grace of the Lord. In 1966 Pastor Pendarvis co-founded B & D Electric in Baton Rouge and after many successful years he retired, leaving the Company in the capable hands of his family.
After retirement, the Lord called Pastor Pendarvis to preach the Gospel at the First Baptist Church of Algiers, located across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina struck the area causing tremendous damage to the region and to the physical facility of the Church. Pastor Pendarvis lead the Church in constructing new state-of-the-art facilities in Walker, Louisiana where the Ministry is now located.
Pastor Pendarvis is the speaker on the Old Trailblazer Broadcast, a fifteen-minute Monday through Friday radio program. His “down home” delivery of the Truth of the Gospel appeals to all age groups. Pastor Pendarvis is also the host of the Voice of Truth Broadcast with Pastor L. R. Shelton, Sr., the founder of the Ministry. Both broadcasts are heard on hundreds of radio stations both domestically and internationally.
